Meet the Author!

Dr. Wilkins discovered her love of writing at a young age. Her parents gifted her with a mystery writing game that taught her how to structure an engaging story. She was hooked! When she got to school writing was all that she could think about. She landed her first job as an education reporter for a daily newspaper after college and never looked back! She began writing children’s books and teaching young writers.

In 2023, Dr. Wilkins was recognized as having written one of the Best Picture Books of 2023! She has written 13 books for young children who want to see themselves on the page, and she has no plans of slowing down.

Read books by Dr. Ebony

As a child, Dr. Wilkins read every children's book that she could find with characters who looked like her and shared her life experiences. Her mom challenged her to write her own when she ran out of these stories. For years, she worked to develop her writing and learned how to teach others. As a professor and writing coach, she teaches her students to take pride in their work because we each have a story to tell that matters. She believes strongly that our stories connect us.

Have a writing project in mind? Let’s connect!

Our stories begin with an idea and the spark of inspiration can come from anywhere—a fleeting thought, an experience, or even a conversation. It’s this initial idea that sets the stage for something greater, whether it’s a novel to captivate readers, a business concept to inspire change or a creative venture that brings joy. The journey from idea to execution is filled with challenges and triumphs, but it’s the way we narrate our experiences, insights, and emotions that truly define our work. Engaging storytelling not only resonates with audiences but also fosters connections. If you have a project in mind, let’s talk.
